XLT places an emphasis on research and development, as well as strong partnerships with industry and is accredited to deliver training to our industry clients, apprentices and trainees.

The ever expanding range of multi-welding, fabrication, pipefitting, forklift , elevated work platforms and construction training courses and challenges across the vast variety of engineering fields aim to meet industry needs and provide opportunities for people of all backgrounds.

Our facilities will always provide learning and training environment that stimulate workplace best practice and offers challenges that exceed those required or experienced on the job.


XLT provides an independent ‘one stop shop’ for all aspects of engineering, polymer and metal trades. As such we require extensive facilities capable of supporting any industry demands that we are called upon to meet or supply.

XLT College of Welding has always had a reputation for producing highly employable graduates and providing quality learning experiences to equip graduates with the skill set that Mining and Engineering industries demand. Our historic records attest to our achievement with outstanding completion rates and very satisfied employers. We aim to continue and expand on this history.

Our successful track record includes CRICOS registration, excellence in training awards and we are world leaders in our patented underwater welding techniques. Our knowledge in welding and polymer use in engineering is second to none and we have developed a number of life and labour saving devices for industry.

XLT Industrial Training's quality has been recognised globally by gaining approvals from International Class Societies including Lloyds of London, American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), Bureau Veritas (BV) and Det Norske Veritas (DNV) and in 2008 gained Germanischer Lloyd approvals for welding and several welding procedures including the in-water/in-situ hull section weld repair procedure plus Manufacturer's Capability Certified.
