West Travis County Municipal Utility District #5 was originally created by an act of the Texas State Legislature in 1989. The purpose for creating WTC MUD#5 was to help construct sewer, water, and draining facilities in the West Travis County and surrounding area and to provide sewer and water services to residents with its boundaries. WTC MUD#5 is still active in constructing and managing these facilities and is currently governed by a 5 member Board of Directors that is elected by local residents or appointed directly by the Board.
