RetroWorks is an online store, based in Toronto, Ontario, specializing in designing and making vintage-style industrial furniture. Our furniture is designed and handmade to evoke an early 20th century factory floor shelf, cart or work table. Born first out of a passionate hobby, we take quality and craftsmanship seriously, and pride ourselves in adhering to an industrial quality and aesthetic where no vintage detail is overlooked, from our boilerplates and rivets to our accent brackets and iron casters.

Our artisanal pieces are designed and made with utility in mind and they are as durable as they are beautiful.  Our furniture blends together the rustic warmth of wood with the sleek coolness of steel in a fashion that results in a stylish, urban vibe and will stand the test of time.  
 
One of the goals we have at RetroWorks is to design and manufacture furniture by hand with a quality and appearance that we can consistently recreate, so that the bookshelf you see on our website is exactly the bookshelf that you receive. Even though each piece is hand crafted with its own unique character, knots and markings, we specialize in producing matching bookcase and coffee table sets that are easily replicable but also inherently possess the beauty of artisanal craftsmanship.

Our bookcases, end tables and coffee tables on casters are crafted from angle iron and rough sawn white pine, fastened with accent corner brackets and our proprietary rivet-bolts.  All of our furniture is mounted on iron casters and our coffee tables and end tables also feature a striking glass table top, made of tempered glass that is both safe and stylish. Not only do the casters used in our furniture enhance its beauty, but they provide the added benefit of mobility since it’s very easy to clean around and move heavy furniture when it’s on wheels.

RetroWorks sells all furniture in pre-selected steel and wood finishes, but we also offer our customers the ability to select their own steel and wood color combinations. As an example you can choose to have your side tables finished with a flat black steel paint and an espresso wood stain.

RetroWorks makes all furniture in Toronto and the majority of our materials are sourced domestically.  We offer local Toronto furniture delivery and we ship our products throughout Canada and the United States at affordable rates.

Owned by a husband and wife team, Jamie and Liz, who shared a long-held enthusiasm for industrial furniture, RetroWorks began as a means to craft the kind of furniture of which they are such aficionados. Jamie, an engineer with a life-long passion for building things and Liz, a financial services professional with a background building websites, leveraged their combined skills to start this Toronto furniture online business.
