Dr Haydar Ozcan is a podiatric foot and ankle surgeon and fellow of the Australasian College of Podiatric Surgeons (ACPS) and Academy of Ambulatory Foot and Ankle Surgery (USA) (AAFAS). He has over 18 years of experience in the field of medicine working as a podiatrist and sport scientist. For the last 7 years, he has been practising as a podiatric surgeon.

He completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Sport Science and Exercise at Sydney University in 2000 and completed his Masters in Podiatric Medicine from Curtin University in 2003. He achieved a Fellowship to the Australasian College of Podiatric Surgeons in 2010. He is currently a Fellow of the Academy of Ambulatory Foot & Ankle Surgery, WA USA, making him the second person in Australia with a specialist certification in Minimally Invasive (Keyhole) Foot Surgery.

He has presented research papers and case studies on topics such as interdigital neuroma surgery, outcomes of bunion surgery, use of external fixators in bone lengthening and interpositional arthroplasty techniques for hallux rigidus surgery. He is frequently invited to present in state, national and international conferences to podiatrists, allied health professionals, doctors and high risk clinicians on advances in foot surgery, wound management, injection techniques and pathomechanics of pain.

He held positions lecturing undergraduate and postgraduate students at the University of Western Sydney in subjects related to neurovascular lower limb disorders and foot and ankle surgery.

He is a founder of Sydney Foot Surgery (Centre for Podiatric Surgery & Medicine Pty. Ltd.). He held board positions on the Australian Podiatry Association (NSW) where he is currently a member. He is affiliated to the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons.
