Walter W. Gerhardt began practicing law in Louisiana in 1991. He has handled thousands of cases including divorce and family law, criminal and DWI defense, personal injury and serious accidents, wills and successions, and other civil litigation. He has extensive experience in each area of the law, and he is in court every week representing clients.

 Mr. Gerhardt’s office is in Bossier City, but he handles cases in many different jurisdictions. In his career, he has handled cases in state district courts, United States federal court, and city courts in the following 14 parishes (listed alphabetically):  Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Claiborne, DeSoto, Lincoln, Natchitoches, Ouachita, Rapides, Red River, Richland, Sabine, Vernon and Webster.

 Mr. Gerhardt graduated from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge with a Juris Doctorate degree, after graduating from Southern Methodist University in Dallas with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He was born in Gainesville, Florida, but has lived in Shreveport since the age of three. He is the father of two sons, who live with him in Shreveport.
