Mr. Politz helped us deal with our insurance claim, they did an honest report on the condition of the roof which helped with the approval of our claim. They also gave us competitive pricing, in fact about $3k below other quotes we received , they worked neatly, the team arrived on time, very professional, they started my roof at 7:30am and were done by 2:00pm. They inspected the area before and after the roof installation, to keep it the same as it was at the beginning. Cleaned up all nails and scrap. It was smooth process, thank you for your all your help. Also, provided me with warranty!

I had a new roof installed. My roof was in bad condition, had to have a lot of wood replaced. They guys did a good job installing the roof! I had to call back for a minor issue, nothing to do with the roof installation. Mr. Politz immediately called me back. I called his office on the weekend, not expecting a call back until Monday. Mr. Politz was at a family event and still called me back to discuss and to let me know the issue would be resolved right away. He followed up first thing Monday morning which I appreciated. Mr. Politz is responsive, kind and definitely stands behind his work and reputation. He also kept me posted during the process. Tammy is always very helpful as well. I am totally satisfied and recommend this company.

I can't say enough good things about Robert and his team. This is the second time our family has used him and been very pleased with the price, speed, and quality of work. Our house was pretty large with surface area and multiple roofing types due to multiple additions and a two car garage.

After getting several quotes, he beat the others by a long shot. And spent extra time to answer my questions and explain all the differences in materials so that I knew exactly what we were getting.

Robert was extremely patient developing a plan that was in our budget and would help fix the leaks we were having, customize our gutter solution so we didn't over pay. Our roof looks even, there are no drips and everything is one solid color.

The team he sent out Luis were very respectful and worked really hard to work around all the specific issues our house had. They even worked with me to straighten a fan pipe so that everything looked clean.

He warranties all his work and also is certified, bonded and insured so you will get manufactures warranties too. If nothing else allow him to come give you a quote.

2018 has been a very busy year for local roofers. High winds in the spring, constant rain this summer created a lot of work and also delayed the work from being completed on schedule. I signed a contract in early June at a competitive cost estimate from Politz. In late August I received a cancellation notice from Politz with a refund of my deposit. They claimed that my quote was based on a "townhouse" (I have a 1 story rancher). The sales rep for the company visited my house and Politz uses satellite imagery to calculate roof dimensions. How then did my rancher become a townhouse? They requoted my roof at a figure double the original estimate and reduced the amount of work to be done using cheaper materials. Even tried to sell me an $800 upgrade for Diamond Deck underlayment!!!!!

It is obvious that they got behind schedule and decided to trim their backlog by dropping lower margin contracts. Shady, sneaky and unethical. Welcome to life in the home improvement business.

I have to recommend these guys because they check all the boxes for a contractor.
I priced my roof with four companies, they were the cheapest. Robert Politz handles the estimating, final contract and is available to answer any questions when i had them.
Someone from their office called me to finalize a schedule and confirm my roof material and color choice. The crew showed up on time, did above and beyond what was contracted, and cleaned up thoroughly after.
The final job is perfect. And my roof is not simple. I have a hip roof design with a seperate roof line over the front door, and two additions each with their own roof lines. Many valleys, skylights, different flashings and pitches to every section of roof.
They also had to remove two layers.
No complaints at all.

We bought a house in desperate need of a new roof. Seeing our predicament, every roof contractor in town offered us a quote. Lots of pushy young guys trying to scare me into immediate, and expensive work. Then along came Ron. He gave me a general quote without requiring a meeting coordinated with my husband, a requirement from another roofer before giving a quote. Ron wasn't pushy and when I asked him to contact me after winter, he did.
He gave me a more precise, but equally fair estimate when I added gutters. The team who did the work were on time and did the work quickly and cleanly. They even had a quality assurance guy come by after to check out the team's work.
They did not charge me a penny over estimate, did the work quickly and for a reasonable price. Thanks, guys!

Posting this on behalf of my parents who had Politz replace their roof and siding on their house this past year.

The first time the roof was replaced, the team that was sent did a terrible and sub par job. If this is how it would have stayed then this review would be 1 star. However, after contacting the owner, Bob Politz, he made it right by not only replacing the poorly done roof but ensuring that the team he originally sent would not be back. The new roof looks great and as a result my parents contracted Politz to then replace the siding which also looks great. Bob is a terrific owner who took the time to listen to my parents needs and made sure they were happy with the end result. Would highly recommend Politz for your next project.

First the good: Good quality materials. Arrived early. Good price.

Now the bad: Broke my gutter. Broke a piece of trim off my house and threw that away but left tons of trash and nails. Someone must have put a foot through my garage ceiling when they replaced a wood panel. They never mentioned it and I didn't notice until much later because it was in an area not visible when my garage door is open. When they were done they just packed up and left. No inspection - as promised. I later received a bill via email and a week later an email threatening to send me to collections for non-payment.

My friend and neighbor had a very similar situation when using PE for their roof. I would not recommend using them unless they have the absolutely best price. If you do go with them, do a thorough inspection before making the final payment and get it in writing that they will pay the bill for any repairs from damage caused by their workers. You don't want them trying to make repairs themselves.

Awesome Roofing Company with Phenomenal customer service! I'm selling my house and needed help on short notice. Tammy at Politz went above and beyond to help. The roofers showed up exactly when we were told they would be at our home and took COVID precautions. We ended up having no issues with the roof and this honest, responsive and awesome company was there for us so we could get to closing on our home. Thank You Politz!!! Thank You Tammy!!!

I would not recommend Politz to anyone in the Frederick, MD area. A big telling point for me is how they treat potential customers and I was not treated well at all. The first time I called, I left my information and the receptionist told me that someone would call or email me back to discuss scheduling. That never happened.

I called them 3 different times - and the last time the receptionist hung up on me. Very unprofessional.

My goal was to have someone come out and replace the gutters on the front of my house and if the work was done well, I would have likely had them do the entire house. I guess Politz is not interested in any new business right now.
