Before choosing On the Spot HVAC, I had researched and worked with multiple professionals (close to a dozen!) and received quotes from all of them. Among the providers, I was referred to On the Spot by a colleague. Unlike other companies, Cody neither pushed for a sale, nor did he try to push a particular product like most other companies. He first asked the right questions, listened to my concerns, and focused on what I needed. He provided various options, including the pros/cons of using different brands, sizes, and power usage.

Cody was very professional and straight-forward from the quote all the way to the implementation and clean-up. He didn't surprise me with any hidden fees or switch-and-bait. I also took note of the many positive Google reviews from local customers. He communicated the expectations and process very clearly before he and his team arrived on a Saturday morning.

Cody and his team arrived promptly and everyone was compliant in wearing masks and appropriate PPE. The team work was exceptional, efficient, and minimal damage (which they corrected - a little scratch to my drywall). The entire process including clean up, checking proper air flows, and learning how to set up and operate the new thermostat, took about 5 hours max.

I love my new Google Nest thermostat!! I have used it to program remotely and no longer have to get up out of bed or interrupt my work flow to change the thermostat. The programming has also been very simple and I can make as many changes and clone the same temperatures across all the days of the week and any day of time I choose.

My new AC unit is working as Cody described. His professionalism and service was great. He has been responsive before and after the work.

I highly recommend his service for the following experience:
      (1) Very professional, clear communications and expectations
      (2) Great customer service and responsiveness
      (3) Excellent value
      (4) Honesty: no switch-and-bait and no pushy sales tactics

Really appreciate Cody and his team at On the Spot HVAC.
      I enthusiastically recommend them!

Stay away from this company. They tricked me into replacing the ac circuit board even though the issue was with the contactor. Here's my story.
My AC stopped working and my google nest thermostat gave me an e103 error code. When I looked up the code, online research mentioned that the Contactor had to be replaced to get the ac compressor fan working. So I called this company to get it fixed. Aaron and Patrick showed up and after some investigation told me that my AC circuit board was fried and had to be replaced. I insisted we start with replacing the contactor but Patrick said that the Contactor is fine and that the circuit board has to be replaced. I agreed what they mentioned and let them change the circuit board. They came a week later and Aaron replaced the board. Then I noticed Patrick going outside to work on the compressor fan, but I didn't think much of it. After he returned and turned on the AC, it started working. When I asked Aaron if everything was good, he said that he replaced the board and it started working. I paid them and they left. I was still trying to figure out what Patrick did outside if it was just the Board that needed replacement and so I called Aaron asking him what work did Patrick do. He said that he messed up the wiring while replacing the board and it shorted the contactor and so Patrick replaced it for free. I have never had anyone fix anything for free and not tell me. That is when I realized that I had been conned. What a convenient coincidence that he fried the contactor which was the original issue that my thermostat pointed to. And he didn't even mention it to me while I was making the payment which clearly shows that either they are incompetent and refuse to accept, it or they knew the issue and conned me. Either way this company shouldn't be in business. If you do the mistake of calling them, make sure to get a second opinion before paying $960 like me.

We've had a long history with On The Spot, and after significant back and forth, I can say that this company (and specifically their owner Cody) is one of the most dishonest and unprofessional companies I've ever encountered.

When our upstairs AC unit went out about 1.5 years ago, we got a quote from three different companies including On The Spot for a 4-ton Trane system. They ended up being the cheapest, so we went with them. Specifically on the quote, it calls out that we will receive a 4-ton Trane "comfort coil", as part of our 100% Trane system. It has a link to the specific product page. We were also promised a 2-year labor warranty from On The Spot.

Fast forward a year, and our upstairs system can't keep up and it's getting hot upstairs. We have On The Spot out, they say there is a leak, and repair the leak. But it still isn't cooling properly. So they come back out, and tell us "the system's pressure readings are correct, so that's all we can do."

But it's still getting hot. So then we call Trane and ask to have a different company come out for a second opinion. The second company, who is a licensed Trane installer, comes out and finds a leak in the evaporator coil. BUT - they can't fix it via our Trane warranty, because On The Spot didn't actually install a Trane coil. They installed an ADP coil, which is both cheaper, and uses a piston system instead of a TXV system (which is more efficient). Since it would cost well over $1,000 to replace the evaporator coil, and both the parts and labor are still under warranty with On The Spot, at this point we call On the Spot back and tell them what has happened.

Cody then proceeds to flip out and completely berate my husband. He yells and screams and accuses my husband of lying, accuses the other company of lying, and says that he will "void all our warranties for having any other tech even look at our system". Finally, my husband calms him down, gives him specific "Delta T" readings that shows our system isn't working correctly, and finally Cody calms down and agrees that he will replace the evaporator coil with what we were actually quoted, which was a Trane comfort coil system. His guys come the next week and install it. We SPECIFICALLY asked the head installer to confirm that it was a Trane comfort coil system that they were installing, and he said it was.

Fast forward another week. It's still not cooling great. We then notice that water is streaming from the secondary drain line. At this point, we really don't want to have to deal with On The Spot anymore, so we call back the company that found the evaporator leak, and they send back out the same technician from before, and she finds a clog in the drain line (that part is actually not On The Spot's fault at all...) but also lets us know - the new evaporator coil that has been installed STILL isn't a Trane comfort coil system. This time, they've installed an Ameristar coil. While Ameristar is owned by Trane, it's a much cheaper part than the Trane comfort coil we were originally quoted - it again uses a piston instead of a TXV and it's made in China instead of the US.

So we once again call Cody back and once again he gets angry that we had someone else look at the system and starts yelling at us. He says that we're lying, he says that the other company doesn't know what they're talking about, and he also is very misogynistic about the fact that the other company's technician is a woman. At this point, he tells us he's "washing his hands of us" and refuses to send another technician out. When I tried to talk to Cody at this point instead of my husband - he grew even more hostile, and said that as the wife, I had no business talking to him at all and should keep my mouth shut.

So, now, after months of back and forth, we still have a system that isn't properly cooling, using cheaper parts than what we were quoted. The moral of the story is - avoid this company at all costs. He will lie to you, yell at you, gaslight you, and if you're a woman - tell you he won't even talk to you. Truly the worst.

The quote showing what we were promised, which was never installed.

Had them come out to investigate why my AC unit suddenly stopped working. They immediately zeroed in on the age of the unit rather than isolating the problem and leaving it up to the homeowner to decide what to do to move forward. The visit turned into a sales pitch. The person that showed up sounded more like a salesman than a technician. Then to make things worse the person tried to say the problem was something that wasn't really the problem in hopes of selling a new system and I picked up on it immediately as not being an honest diagnosis. I just wish I had a hidden camera recording what transpired and then I could have shared it with the local news investigation team. I believe in honestly and transparency but I was directly lied to. They will never step foot on my property again. I had someone else come out and resolve the issue.

They were absolutely amazing. I was without heat, my house was 59 degrees, they showed up when they said, they were fast, efficient, explained what they fixed and did not charge me for what did not need fixed like a lot of HVAC Companies. They were friendly, and easy to deal with. Extremely reasonable. I can highly recommend them for your all your HVAC needs and have definitely put them in my contacts as I will use them again if needed without hesitation. Thank you On The Spot HVAC!!!

Scheduled an appointment with them and they did not inform us they were running late with the previous customer. We had to contact them to reschedule due to work schedules for later in the evening. Same issue in the evening, no show because the tech is tied up with the previous call and they want to reschedule for the next day. Either you don't have enough people to handle your business and you don't know how to provide customer service. I believe it's both. Highly unreliable service!!

My opinion of On The Spot is that they are a 'hit and run' company selling defective equipment and installing damaged Trane HVAC units in people's homes in the north Texas area. Unfortunately I signed a contract with their sales representative to install a Trane HVAC system at my home in Allen on July 5. Upon completion the manager/installer quickly took his $10,000.check and was notified the following day (July 6) that the cooling unit was making extreme noise. The On The Spot HVAC tech arrived and said the unit/system had to be replaced. It is now November 13 and the manager has refused to honor the new unit parts and labor warranty and replace and/or repair the unit including the blower fan. The blower fan had apparently been dropped and severely damaged during delivery or installation. .When the compressor is on the noise is unbearable. In my opinion On The Spot HVAC is an unethical and unprofessional company that aggressively preys on unsuspecting customers and has no regard for those they harm with their 'hit and run' customer service model. . . . .

Did an over the phone quote without ever coming to our house and seeing the system. We asked him to come to our house so we could talk to him in person and he could look at the system to see exactly what we needed done. He rescheduled twice then ghosted us, we never heard from him again. He actually expected us to agree to payment without him ever seeing what our system needed. He could've added anything on mid project stating he wasn't aware it needed this or that done and we'd have been stuck with it. No thanks we passed. Would give no stars if we could.

Needing a new air conditioning unit is never fun for homeowners.

Our Lennox units were 15 years old and were starting to show their age
(frequent capacitor replacements, fan motors dying, etc). Our main
unit was working well, but our other two units were not. We called the
same AC servicing company we've had for the past few years, and as we requested, gave us a quote for repairs and a quote for a replacement unit. To get a second opinion, we called On the Spot HVAC, and spoke to JP. JP came over that day. He reviewed our entire system, inside and out (more than our previous company). He examined our old system with us, pointed out leaks, kinked ductwork, inadequate ductwork...and explained the reasons why our system was struggling. Afterwards, JP sat down with us to ask about our short-term and long-term HVAC needs and how long we were planning to stay in the house. Looking at our needs and his experience in HVAC, he suggested a few options, not a sales pitch.

After deciding to replace all three units rather than spend the next few years replacing parts and eventually replacing the units, he explained with his team, it would likely take 5-6 hours to complete. We requested a quote and it was sent within hours. The next day, we signed the quote and were able to schedule the service with On the Spot HVAC for 3 days later.

Installation: The eight-person crew was punctual and professional.
They had our old systems removed from the attic and outside, the new
systems in, the ducting fixed, and new thermostat controllers installed...all in less than 6 hours. They took an extra 30 minutes to make sure they cleaned up and vacuumed any debris from the installation.

Did I mention On the Spot HVAC's quote was competitive with the previous company servicing our AC equipment for years?

Or that their labor warranty is for 2 years instead of 1?

Or that the manufacturer's warranty transfers to the new owners when we sell? That's something Trane does but we didn't know until JP explained it to us.

Punctual, professional, cost as quoted and with quality work through and through. We are very happy and highly recommend.
