PrestoSports became one of the largest college sports tech companies with nearly 10 million fans connecting with 950 schools or organizations on their platform. Successful exit to Battery Ventures and the flagship brand with a roll-up strategy in the college sports space.
JAVA CONSULTING
Tech Consulting
In the late 90s and early 00s, Loki Technologies provided industry-leading expertise to startups and multinationals, from Silent Frog and HotPads to Hotels.com and JP Morgan.
Shuttered in 2003 as Java was mainstream.
LINKAWARE
Cloud Protection Service
Linkaware provided content providers with control over who was deep linking into or directly embedding their website content onto other sites. Unscrupulous content aggregators would wrap or deep-link into articles, depriving content sites of valuable traffic.
Closed after prototyping.
MAILHIVE
Email Add-on Service
Mailhive allowed email users advanced features not available to them in the AOL/Hotmail era. It was initially launched to provide automated language translation service to send an email to a person in a different language, halted because of licensing challenges. It was then relaunched as a scheduled email delivery service. Both finished prototyping but failed market tests. Mail service donated to Apache Software Foundation as JAMES.
VERGIL
Java Code Quality Service
Vergil provided teams with transparency to quality and standards for Java development teams. Built internally based on years of Java consulting experience. Kept internal after insufficient market interest.
MOBILE BIRDER
Exploration Video Game
The 'mobile birder' was an exploration and discovery game geared towards the bird watching or "birding" community. Developed for iOS and Android, it was shuttered because of content production costs, relative to market size potential.
