Fine Fibers and Friendly Service is our motto and that is exactly what you'll find in our store.
We have a great selection of yarns including the complete Malabrigo line which is our best selling yarn. We also sell yarns from Rowan, Blue Sky Alpacas, Cascade yarns, and numerous sock yarns from Trekking, and many independent dyers - the list is forever growing and changing.
We offer a great selection of high quality yarns , needles, notions, and classes for all levels of knitters and crocheters. Our Knitting and Crochet classes will increase your repertoire and skill levels and enlarge your knitting friends circle. Please join us at the store and share your knitting passion and projects with us.
Knitting Groups
Come and knit with a great group of knitters! Due to limited space at the shop, Klose Knit has organized the following knitting groups for its patrons.
Krannert Center for the Performing Arts - Sunday 2:00 - 4:00 pm
500 S Goodwin Ave, Urbana, Go into the North Entrance, Parking is in the Orange Parking lot, we meet in the Lobby at the Cafe on the 5th floor.
Parkland Student Union - Wednesdays 1:00 - 3:00pm
It is between and C and M Wing of the Campus. Park in C and M parking lot. The Cafe is right ahead.
Meet the Owner, Brigitte Pieke
I was raised in Germany where everybody knits and it even is taught in school. My grandma taught me when I was 8 years old and I was an on again off again knitter for many years. In 2005 and 2006 I worked in a yarn store in Washington DC. That's when I knew this was how I wanted to spend my retirement. As soon as I was back in Urbana I started Klose Knit, so I could share my lifelong passion for knitting with as many people as possible. Having lived here for 35 years and raising my family in Urbana, I feel that this is home.
