LIHEAP

Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) provides a one-time energy bill assistance to families with low incomes to help defray a portion of their winter heating costs. Payments are based on types of fuel utilized, income levels, and geographic region. These funds also allow families who are disconnected to receive additional assistance to restore heat and to repair or replace inoperable or dangerous furnaces.

CSBG

Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) services are designed to help families overcome immediate crisis and obtain self-sufficiency. Specific services offered through CSBG are determined annually and are based on a community needs assessments.

WX

Weatherization (WX) services assist qualified homeowners and renters to make upgrades to their heating plans, and implement energy conservation measures to help the household save on winter heating costs. Studies have shown that the typical house, after weatherization, saves 20% per year on heating costs.

LIHWAP

Low Income Home Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP) dollars are available to assist. This program provides restoration, prevent disconnection and reduce arrearages of household water services. Income eligible households with water services arrearages of $250 or more should apply. Customers must have the water account in their name. Income eligibility is set at up to 200% of the federal poverty guidelines.

SNAP BRP

SNAP – ECICAA has begun this program to provide specialized assistance to individuals and families receiving SNAP benefits who experience a barrier to gaining employment or who are at risk of homelessness. These funds are available are available to anyone on SNAP who would benefit from barrier reduction support.

Tutoring will be available in the following subjects:

Math, English and Reading

Preparation for Math and Reading for College Entrance

Assistance with FAFSA and Scholarship Applications

Prep for SAT Test

How can ECICAA can help?

If you find yourself in need, please call the office in your county and make an appointment to sub-mit an application. We are taking applications virtual and in-person for LIHEAP and PIPP (Percentage of Income Payment Plan) Monday-Friday, and limited walk-ins on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Do you need help getting your GED?

The Agency is available to assist customers in covering the cost of the GED test. If you are interested in reaching the goal of obtaining your GED, call us for more information via CSBG: 217-554-9122.
