Job Title: Construction Project Manager
Department: Project Services
Location: Baton Rouge

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
Provide overall project management to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget while incorporating company policies and standards. Manages all phases of assigned projects, including preparation of work plans, project scope, budget, and schedule from start-up
to completion. Perform all work in a safe and professional manner. Establish and maintain good working relationships and communications with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, co- workers, and management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Directly responsible for all safety, financial, operations and administrative functions on all assigned projects.
+ Develops a thorough understanding of the entire scope of work including contracts, plans, specifications, schedule, budget, logistics, labor, materials, equipment, submittal requirements, quality control, Rental/licensing requirements, required permits, safety, and other project requirements.
+ Develops and maintains the Project Management Plan for execution of the work.
+ Acquire, develop, and manage the project team based on manpower requirements and required qualifications and skills.
+ Issue and approve all purchase orders, purchase agreements and subcontracts.
Coordinate with the Procurement and Accounting Departments
+ Utilize Contract Manager for documentation of project records and data.
+ Coordinate and participate in meetings required by customer and home office.
+ Implement Cost Management Plan to ensure project is proceeding on or under budget.
+ Identify and ensure implementation of project safety plan and QC plan.
+ Prepare and submit all close-out data required by the contract including as-built
drawings, operations and maintenance manuals, reports, and other required
documentation.
+ Ensure all required documentation requested by the home office is provided in a complete and timely manner.
+ Conduct an analysis of all cost codes and man-hour production rates. Document
explanation of variances. Prepare variance reports of the findings for presentation during the Post Job Review.
+ Provides leadership and direction to the project team.
+ Effectively and efficiently communicates routine project status updates, project changes and responds to inquiries about projects.
+ Effectively manages project changes, adhering to the project change control process.
+ Travel to project sites is required on an as needed basis.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture is preferred with a minimum of 5 years construction project management experience.
+ Will accept a minimum of 10 years progressive experience/knowledge of construction, design, finance, and management in lieu of a degree.
+ Proficient in MS Office (word, excel, power point, etc.)
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
+ Experience in all aspects of design/build contract execution

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:

Thie primary purpose of the Operations Manager is to perform highly responsible, complex and confidential administrative coordination and program project work for the Program Management team. The Operations Manager will also fill in for Project Management when they are unavailable or are on leave.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promotes, executes, and adheres to the company’s safety program.
  • Coordinate with the Corporate office and banks for financials, perform finance administration for the program as needed.
  • Partners with Transition Manager and site team to create and standardize program reporting and forms.
  • Evaluate Work Control Program and Facilities Repair Program. Work with Project Management and site team to standardize and administer these programs.
  • Assist the Project Management team with the hiring process. Receive and review CV’s and resumes for sorting and interviewing purposes.
  • Train new staff on Arkel Policy Statements and site required training.
  • Coordinate with the Garrison, USACE, other contractors and OGA’s for processes and compliance.
  • Assist with the setup of the warehouse and inventory control procedures.
  • Create the Document Control Process for the Program and each of the projects.
  • Performs other duties or tasks as required based on company’s needs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience managing and supervising projects of similar scope and size.
  • Prior US Army Corp of Engineers project experience is highly desired.
  • Ability to evaluate and analyze problems, processes to develop solutions is critical
  • Thorough understanding and adoption of corporate and industry practices, processes, and standards and their impact on project activities is vital.
  • Strong organizational skills are required to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Viewpoint and other computer applications.
  • Ability to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

  • Sit for long periods of time.
  • Walk on uneven surfaces or climb on things and maintain balance.
  • Ability to adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) policy and maintain individual PPE in a functional condition.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; and vibration. We require adherence to prescribed safety practices and use of safety equipment such as protective hearing devices, hard hats, hard-toe shoes, gloves, respirators, extreme weather safety, and protective clothing. The noise level in the work environment is often loud.
