Make a reservation for Sunday lunch. We got the last table luckily without one.
The service was friendly and professional.
The dumplings were all delicious.
The room is decorated nicely.
Great spot on the UES, walking distance from the Met Museum.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Jun 15, 2018Previous reviewVery good UES dim sum place. Had lunch Friday. Good service. Nice decor.
Had one lunch special. Shocked at how inexpensive the lunches are. Comes with soup. Vegetable lo mein tasted really good. Grandson loved the wonton soup.
Had the shrimp dumplings, seafood dumplings and vegetable dumplings.
If you check in with Yelp you get a free chicken dumpling. Would return when in the area. - Jan 6, 2024
Was in the area and glad to find a well-rated Chinese restaurant. Service was prompt, and the food was delicious. I was impressed by how thin the soup dumpling dough was - it was so delicate that a tiny pinch would reveal the juicy meat. Check in on Yelp provided complimentary chicken dumplings (4), Yelpie!!
We also ordered the crispy duck rolls, which combined my two favorite things in one - duck meat and spring rolls.
For the entree, we opted to share a portion of the scallion beef dish. The flavor was spot on, and the portion was perfect for 2.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 4, 2023
Just to clarify, an extra 3% if you pay with credit card. The staff was nice and we did not need reservation to grab a table for 2 for lunch on a rainy Sunday.
Loved the CRAB PORK SOUP DUMPLING (x6), the dumplings were perfectly cooked and did not break when serving, soup was so flavorful. Also loved the PEKING CRISPY DUCK ROLL (x1) that has some duck pieces with veggies, it was very crispy. The FRIED RICE WITH PORK comes in generous portions. Finally had the STEAM SHRIMP DUMPLINGS (x4), that were okay but nothing out of the ordinary. These were the perfect portions for 2 people.
Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Farzad I.New York, NY274414Apr 27, 2024

Wanted to update my review to say that ordering problems seem to have been resolved, and the food is as good or better than ever. Try the Peking duck it will surprise you. Generous serving, well prepared... Without question one of the best takeout places on the Upper East Side, not that I wouldn't love to walk in and sit at a table-service is excellent. Mei Fun seems to have disappeared from the menu. Don't know why- it was very good.
Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Oct 14, 2021Previous reviewNothing has happened with the quality of the food which is consistently excellent, but the changes in the way one has to place an order have made it virtually impossible to get what one expects.
After 3 attempts to order and finding major changes in the process and computer controls, I'm I'm really a little fed up and I'm sorry to say it.
Well intentioned people, but it's just not workingMar 24, 2019Previous reviewFinally showed up in person to eat at this lovely UES Chinese restaurant where we have been getting take out from for some time. Lively, pleasant atmosphere with excellent and attentive hosts and waitstaff. Relatively rapid service. diverse and interesting menu somewhat removed from the standard fare, and well prepared.
We will definitely be back. - L M.Manhattan, NY11595Dec 27, 2023
Horrendous delivery man (they have their own delivery crew) banged on my door and screamed in the middle of the hallway at 10pm to let me know the food is here after I told him to leave the food at the door (I was in the bathroom and couldn't move). When I finally opened the door and unpacked the food, I saw the plastic had been damaged from the banging. Moreover, the chicken tasted like shit... Tri Dim Shanghai, this particular employee of yours is mental, needs help and should not be doing this job and terrorizing people during deliveries. Called the restaurant and have yet to speak to anyone with sense. Will be blacklisting this place. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! ‼‼

I'm a fan! Nice spacious sit-down, medium-classy Chinese food. Our dishes tasted fresh and not greasy at all. I was debating between two noodle dishes and I asked for the waiter's choice - the waiter even offered if I didn't like what he chose that he would change it for the other one. The cocktails were very tasty too, just a little too much ice (maybe ask for less ice). Added to my favorites and would return to try dim sum.

Very Good Food. Friendly Service.
Nice Decor I would Recommend. Soup Dumplings were DELISH but didn't get a picHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Olivia M.Manhattan, New York, NY041Apr 5, 2024Seated via Yelp Reservations
This place is a no frills hidden gem that has become a regular spot for us. The service is amazing (they literally hand prepare the moo shu pork in front of you) and the people are SO kind, yet it doesn't feel like a stuffy/elitist place. The food is INCRED, we always get the soup dumplings and scallion pancakes. It's cute inside but not super trendy, which I think actually makes me like it more.
