M&D Locksmith And Security

I've used M&D for all my locksmith needs over the past 10 years. They always do great work and are very responsive. Would definitely recommend.

- Got a key made here, better than my original
- this is the third lock Smith I went to, and nobody copied it correctly but here
- only thing is, call ahead, if the owner is out on duty, you're going to show up to a locked door (and it's not so fun, when a locked door is the reason why you are there)

I told Joey I'd write him a 5-star review if he could make a copy of my Mul-T-Lock key that works. I'm a man of my word.

Joey is M&D's master key technician, or at least that's what Leah, the girl who answered the phone, told me. When I came into the shop, he was mildly braggadocious ('I am the only one who can make this key') but mostly charming. He refused a tip and instead insisted I write him a good review.

He did me a massive favor by making this key, one of the few shops in the area who even considered it. Leah was polite and very friendly. They only charged me $20 and it was fast. Threw in a bottle opener as well.

I could not be more pleased. He deserves 6 stars.

I feel lucky to know about M and D locksmith. They responded immediately both times I've used them. They know everything about locks, keys, etc. and are very professional in their services.

Since the Joey asked, no the vendor did not give me free keys because he didn't have a reason to but was incredibly sympathetic considering what you did and how you treated me. In total the cost per key ratio was $5 per key.

To others looking for a locksmith - don't let the 4.5 overall rating confuse you. Service is overpriced and Joey is unprofessional at best.

Seems like Joey selectively tries to scam customers into paying outrageous sums of cash. I almost got suckered into paying three times more than reasonable (Joey's insisting I go to an ATM on the spot to pay him in advance was a red flag). Thankfully I found Affordable Locksmith III, a much more honest outfit. Good luck to everyone. Don't let a locksmith take advantage of your vulnerability in needing your locks taken care of properly!

M&D is the only locksmith business that I trust -- and I've used many different businesses around Brooklyn, to help with unlocking rooms I've been locked out of, installing new locks and securing front doors. When I called, I was in a state of panic. The lovely woman who answered the phone assured me she'd help resolve my situation. She was so kind and helpful from the very start.

Joey the locksmith, with M&D, arrived in fewer than 30 minutes! And he introduced himself, asked about the lock, and got to work right away. He was able to fix my door really fast, and charged me a fair price which I was more than happy to pay for his time and efficient work.

On his way out, he gave me some suggestions on how to preventing the doors from auto-locking, and offered to come back that night if I had any more issues.

I've been ripped off so many times by locksmiths that I assumed the industry overall was corrupt. For most of us, when you're calling a locksmith for help, it's not because we need a check-up. It's because of an emergency. And we're at the mercy of the guy who shows up at your door.

NOT M&D. It is an honest business with kind, considerate staff who treats customers with respect -- and understand that the situation you're in is important and everything they do supports their desire to help. Honest locksmith!!! After calling so many locksmith services in Brooklyn to get my office locks replaced, I found M&D locks and keys with such an honest price. It started with excellent communication skills from the start, followed by arrival at a timely manner, and to top it all, it was straight to the point and honest dealing from the begging. I knew this was the locksmith I will use to replace all the locks in my office.
