Illuminate Plastic Surgery

I have nothing but great things to say about Illuminate. From the moment you walk in, you are immediately acknowledged by a super-friendly person at the front desk, and throughout your experience, everyone is professional, and you can tell they care about you.

I got to know David and Molly many years ago at their original office in Palo Alto, and as the practice has grown, I've been to both the San Jose and Palo Alto offices. Although they've expanded, I love that they still have the same personable vibe that made me a repeat client.

I met Kelly this year in San Jose and am very impressed with her BBL laser treatments. Kelly has such attention to detail. She took the time to examine my skin, call out the areas she wanted to target, and explain why I would choose one treatment over another.

I also appreciate that Illuminate invests in the latest technologies. This means they aren't as limited in what they can recommend. You feel confident that you are getting the best treatment to take care of your concerns. The BBL worked out well for me! I saw the results from the first session (no downtime!) I'm so happy with how my skin looks and feels after the series.

This is an update review from the original review after many little incidents that I have face might happened from the meeting:
A. I was insisting to meet with dr. David B for consultation due to a bad experience with another dermatologist place before hands, and as someone new with dermatology, which not much guidance beside the internet. I thought meeting the owner of the place was the proper choice.

B.Why choose him instead of his wife? I work with a major with a lot of guys, and used to that ideology. However, due to the fact that I got told to look down on the floor a lot when I am a kids ( I am working to fix that problem), there might be misunderstanding.

C.Why am I writing this review? I just realizing he might getting in a tons of trouble with his lovely wife. ( yeah, I was not sure how to interacting with other married couples, or single people while going through divorce, and after divorce with not much experience with people before hands).

D. Why now and not any other time? Better clear things up now than never. Besides, he did mention that he will treating me as I have black skin although that I am pretty much having Asian skin. No, I did not think one bad things about it, just thought he might not used to treat Asian skins before ( this thought come much later, to be honest I didn't really give a thought about that at all).

F. One thing that I probably have to mention incase there are further misunderstanding. My ex husband was White, and I was around white, and other races of people much more than my own race for more than haft of my life. There were bad stigmas for married to my ex- husband, and I went out of my way couple times to defending that, which can made me look like I am "racist", or try to go for the money. Honestly guys, dr have students loan debts too...

My first Botox treatment done in a very long time, with Rachel. The staff were nice, the location beautiful and clean. I left happy and was very happy with the results.

Kristina is phenomenal at botox! I literally don't even feel it and the results are amazing.

I have had a skin picking condition since I was 7, which coupled with some acne and hyperpigmentation, had left my self esteem lacking. I'd always been really insecure about my skin, and no amount of makeup could ever truly cover it up without making me look like I was wearing a lot of foundation/concealer. Thanks to Kristina and staff, I no longer wear foundation, just tinted sunscreen!!! I get compliments all the time about how beautiful my skin looks. I'd never considered aging/sun damage a concern, but now I realize that my "smile lines" are totally gone. My coworkers joke that at the age of 25, I look like a 16 year old intern in the office.

I did picolaser and a skincare treatment, which was ~$800 per session + the $$$ skincare products. So I only did two sessions because I found it to be a little pricy for me, but I have no regrets. Wish it was a little more affordable, but other than that, can't complain.

I hope to return some day to do more picolaser with her. Maybe I'll even try some of their other services like coolsculpting or something.

Love, love, love Illuminate, especially Nurse Practitioner Katie. I have seen Katie for Botox and most recently BBL with Moxie. Katie takes her time to really study your face and get to know your goals. I know many people are nervous to try a procedure, but Nurse Practitioner Katie really walks you through everything. I am always so happy with my Botox so I decided to try something new to really help been my skin tone. The BBL with Moxie was recommended for some sun spots and redness. The procedure itself was very easy. Again, Katie took the time to study my face. My face was photographed first to really see where the damage is, and then we got started! The laser itself was fine, just a little snapping feeling. After I felt like I had a sunburn, but only for an hour or so and then it mellowed out. My skin slowly sloughed off, no peeling off in sheets. My skin is so much better now!! After about a week, the texture was so much smoother and less red. I can really see the difference. I highly recommended Katie at Illumintate!

I've been going to Illuminate for years for Botox and a few other treatments. I absolutely love that they not only keep me looking my best, but they are always up to date with the latest procedures to provide the best services to complement my needs and the needs of my friends and family.

I was really excited to get Daxxify at Illuminate a few months ago instead of Botox. Daxxify can last 6 months! It's been a great recommendation for me. I'm getting great results with less visits. I am so thankful to have found Illuminate for all of my beauty needs! I started getting regular hydrafacials with Ashley S almost a year ago and have noticed SUCH a dramatic improvement in my skin. Ashley has an INCREDIBLE wealth of knowledge and is a true OG within the hydrafacial industry. I trust her implicitly with my custom hydrafacial treatments. She is very on top of monitoring my skins performance using the Visia, and is always so friendly and helpful with product recommendations and treatment guidance. I have skin texture challenges with some deep pockets of acne scarring, as well as melasma she has helped me to treat. I will continue to come to Illuminate for all my skin and injection needs!

I also see Rachel at Illuminate Skin for my injections and she is so wonderful as well! Cares so much about her patients loving their results, is a great communicator with a wealth of knowledge. Cannot recommend them enough!

Dr. B is a perfectionist (I assume , being that his work is indeed perfect !) , honest , realistic, personable , professional , and he truly has the skill to deliver optimal results !


And FYI , I don't do reviews often . Hardly ever! Illuminate just made such an impression on me that I told myself I wanted to let others know ! Of course I would always remind myself to submit a review , and would forget , and remind , repeat , ect. This is quite overdue , but I'm glad I'm finally putting the word out !
