Rip offs! Firstly left my vehicle there for them to tell me what needs to be fixed in my transmission. I generally dont trust garages as they will switch your parts etc, so Im there often to keep check. This was July 25, 2022. Came in following day to see another battery in my vehicle. When I asked Mr Dunn(the owner) about it ..he said he "borrowed" my battery to start another vehicle. Shameful and dishonest from the get go! Now he pulled up my transmission went in an replaced parts without first informing me of what was wrong and how much for parts etc. out of the blue I see an item for banner kit for 90,000JMD . When I checked the cost of the kit from Transtec, the kit is about 200+usd, which is about 30,000 and he wants to impose his markup and profit totalling 90,000? now he total bill almost 200,000JMD. Give you joke the problem still present. So now I start distrusting these guys as I discovered they didnt use the oil I got from the dealer but used there own oil which was not what the manufacturer recommended and then want to charge me for it. Give you joke, I took a photo of the oil one of their workers said he used and the dealer said it it not what is recommended and is used for CVT transmissions. My transmission is world standard type. So now after presenting me with a nearly 200,000 bill and the problem is still present he tells me oh you need a valve body. A valve body is nearly 300,000 at toyota jamaica new.. lmaaao! Now he goes threatening the worker with dismissal because he told the truth. Mr Dunn claims he is in the transmission business for over 40 years and he does not know to diagnose a problem? you attack the small things first..because he want to "eat a food" off a customer who he see $$ sign on his forehead, he passed the valve body and went into the transmission and took out my parts and put in what he feels like putting in(To change the valve body would not incur a labour cost of 60,000) Furthermore he told me before pulling the transmission, that my model vehicle comes with a valve body problem. So he knew what the issue was from the get go! When I demanded my parts he unlawfully removed, he said oh I threw them out. RotfLOL. Mr Dunn and TnL transmission is a joke at best . In addition I left 5 quarts of oil and 1 is missing. He has now possibly worsened the condition by using the wrong oil.So I speak to him again Thursday morning August 25 demanding my parts and informing him of the consumer protection law and he said him nuh work wid law(this clown) and I must come off his phone. He is obviously on his way out of business and I have reported the matter to the consumer affairs commission. No one is going to try rip me off and get away with it. He obviously thought I knew nothing about mechanic work. The transmission mount was also bad and I discovered it from some pictures i took. The transmission mount can cause the issues i was experiencing and or exacerbate it. These guys took off the mount and replaced it and "didnt see it" lol. It was I who noticed it in a photo I casually took (attached). So I asked Ms Dunn about the oil and she says they use it all the time without an issue..OMG these persons say they are transmission specialist? No wonder the mechanics in the usa diss and call them "old school island guys"
