Description
The Registrar General's Department (RGD) is an Executive Agency and Jamaica’s sole repository of birth, death, marriage and fetal death records. The only organisation in Jamaica which is responsible for registering the vital events of births, fetal deaths, marriages and deaths. Services/Activities: Keeping safe important historical and public documents such as wills, naturalisation certificates of citizenship and laws of Jamaica; Classifying diseases indicated on the medical certificates of the cause of death; producing certified copies of birth, death, and marriage records, correcting errors of fact on vital records; adding a father's particulars to his child's birth record; registering Opticians, trade unions, building societies and staff associations; Recording deeds such as deed polls, conveyances, bills of sale and power of attorney; and much more.

    After making me wait 6 months for my research, they sent back the same data I gave them in my original request and some ridiculous results they'd slapped together. My grandparents couldn't be married before they were born, could they? I asked them to correct the errors and never heard from them again. Do not give your money to the RGD! Disreputable con artists.

    Cant even get someone to answer the phone, they dont honour the time they provide as it relates to receiving your document

    Great customer service by Latoya Crossdale at the Twickenham Park, Spanish Town branch. She was very patient and helpful although red tape was present in getting my business sorted. Thanks Latoya!!

    good morning my I am checking on my record in the hospital as didn't admit in Spanish Town Hospital from 2011in Juneand I've been there for 6 months have been shot in my hand right hand and I need a medical record because I'm going overseas to do an operation can you email me my record for the broken handtell me what I must do if I must come over there for it

    Not worth it don't send money to these people for a genealogy search they took my money and never send any information and when I email them to request a refund they block the email . They are a big fraud! I even emailed the receipt of the transaction dated January 2017 back to them for the money paid still no answer back from them and this is July 2017

    After paying $12000 for a form search to determine if I was indeed registered or not, after being asked by the customer service department at 619-1260 in a very rude and disrespectful tone that "Did you know it takes 8mths to a year for a response?" After paying over $10000 in transportation fees, I am still be told by the RGD to the search is incomplete! I have sent numerous emails, contacted the Facebook page on so many occasions. Decided it was best to have others call and ask for status updates. I am still hearing " the search is incomplete" You cannot tell people it takes up to a year and 14 months later still nothing. A year is 12 months. THIS is the travesty that has been meted out to me since I paid to have a Form search completed on June 4 2016. I am looking into every avenue possible until the BODY that the RGD reports to do something about it. I will not rest until I am given something to register as a CITIZEN of this country and a REFUND. Their NO refund policy is null and void when the service that was paid is not provided!
