In March 1982 Q. D. Hardware Limited was formed. In 1992 in an effort to satisfy the ever-changing demands of consumers, the company entered into a franchising arrangement with Ace Hardware International, a United States based entity. This franchising arrangement transformed Q. D. Hardware into Q. D. & Ace. The company now became the first establishment in Jamaica to offer the “Hardware Supermarket Superstore” concept.
