Nina Ross Hair & Skin Therapy

Will not meet with you while in the office, you only see the staff. They charge what they want to after they find out how you found out about them. Learned that I was charged a lot more than someone else who was given the same treatment plan. Got a 2nd opinion and learned that the red light therapy should be more intense the first few months. I was told to come in once a month. I didn't see Dr. Ross until after 6 sessions, after asking during sessions 3, 4 and 6. Asked for time to go over bloodwork and was told, "we put everything in the portal". I asked if I could get my hair braided in cornrows so I could wear a wig underneath and was told yes.

Last appointment #6, I was told I had too many braids in my hair and they were pulling. Imagine if I could have been told that month 3 if I could've just had 5 minutes of Dr. Ross's time or if the had at least looked at my pictures sooner.
I definitely didn't leave feeling like an important patient.

Nina has been very helpful in assisting me with the health of my hair. She is truly committed to her clients and their overall experience. She has supported me since day one and I always look forward to seeing her. She won't give up on you and she won't let you give up on yourself during your hair growth journey.

During my initial consultation I was concerned about the success of the procedure due to the cost. I was informed it would take 8 months and if it was not progressing the way she (Nina) thought she would continue at her expense. It was not 8 months it was 10 sessions which was about 6 months. I saw Nina the first two appointments. One of her tech took pictures at the 9th session and she came in and ask if we could get aggressive with the treatment which I approved. I believe had she been more involved in my treatment from day 1, she would have started an aggressive treatment earlier. When I came back for my post procedure evaluation I was informed that I needed to wait a year to see if it worked or I could pay for another 10 sessions. OMGoodness!!!! what happen to if it does not work I will continue at my own expense. Please know what you are signing up for and get it in writing as it is about the money not the service.

Nina Ross is a breath of fresh air! I know this to be true due to my high and low search for a physically and mentally professional stylist. Over the years I had run-ins with conscious stylists​ shaming me for not being natural, gossiping stylists​, negging stylists, and downright unprofessional stylists​ who didn't value clients time nor patronage.

I visited twice and gathered Nina Ross is far from the debacles I endured. She was welcoming and knowledgeable. She asked about my hair history and analyzed my hair and based on our discussion she assembled the most soothing and active hair mask I've received. I could feel it opening my pores, the hair mask cocktail was from scratch and all natural ingredients and was a calming sensation. Miss Ross has a gentle hand during detangling and thoroughly washes. Lastly, she's not putting high heat on your hair. She managed to straighten my roots (which are natural) without me feeling a scalp burn.

She usually focuses on one person for half an appointment before the next client arrives so the service is somewhat swift. However, carve out a long grace period as she may require additional time and she's located in Midtown near the thick of the traffic.

Her clientele is diverse. I witnessed her complete a lovely, Caucasian woman's hair with fusion links and it looked very real. The lady was grateful as she visited due to hair loss and the extensions instantly gave her back the confidence she appeared to lack based on our exchange.

I'm lucky to have finally found such a talented, informative, and mature stylist in a city saturated with hairdressers. She's multi-faceted and easy to talk to, and she has a wonderful assistant (her daughter) that is equally helpful.

I waited a while before deciding to leave a review on Nina Ross Hair & Skin Therapy to make sure I was not in my feelings. Turns out, it's still bothering me so I'm writing the review. I first went to get a consultation for microlinks. I admit that I was a few moments late because I had not been on that side of town before. The receptionist was very hospitable but when I sat in the chair, I wasn't sure that it was Nina or someone else looking at my hair because she did not identify herself. Nor did she ask how I found them or any other professional questions with great customer service that I've experienced before. She stated that she knew what was going on with my hair but declined to share it with me. I found that odd.

So, I decided to give the salon another chance and made an appointment just to get my hair cleaned/pressed. I went and was well welcomed by two ladies whom after a while, all three of us began talking/laughing. It was truly enjoyable. But when my hair was getting pressed, the lady who was doing my hair once again, did not identify herself, did not ask me how I was doing, did not ask me my name...nothing. Now don't get me wrong, my hair looked and felt beautiful and the pricing was competitive but the customer service from the two main stylists was much to be desired.

The kicker is when a woman who was non-Black came in and when I say the place lit up! Nina was conversing with her and so was the lady who was doing my hair. They were very accommodating and personable. I felt so slighted and if they wanted me to come back, there was absolutely no effort in doing helping me to make a decision.

I guess they have it like that. Shameful and disappointing especially with all that's been going on in the world. Unfortunately, I won't be going back or recommending them.

I was here and got the dream smoothing treatment with Marissa before I went and got my Brazilian knots it was so worth it. I can't wait to set up a consultation for my hair froth journey.

I wouldnt know the service because i didnt get the service. Been waiting at the salon for 20 minutes and no show. I already paid $25 to make the appointment and she didn't show up. When i called, she said shes at some store two blocks away... So I waited for 15 more minutes and left.

So Nina actually reached out to me that day via text (which I missed and saw later) and said she would refund my $25 and she also offered a free service if I would like to schedule another day.

I accepted and will update this review after I receive the service but I definitely value her professionalism.

Rescheduled for the free service for 12:30pm. And yet again, i waited 27 minutes. Safe to say that shes not very punctual.

With that said, service was great. She was very pleasant, lovely and knowledgeable. For that i change the rating from 2 stars to 4.

The salon reached out again to see if there's anything that they could've done to make this a better experience and I appreciate them going out of their way to make things right.

Nina is absolutely lovely! And her work is FLAWLESS! Got my extensions done last week and I am LOVING them! They blended so perfectly and that's not easy considering I have 80 different colors going on in my hair she was a pleasure to talk to and work with. I would 11/10 recommend!! Thanks Nina for my beautiful new locks!

I moved to Atlanta in March and if you are like me you know how hard it is to find hair, nail, and skin people when you move. So I did a lot of hunting online for reviews and pictures and I found Nina and figured I would give her a try because of the picture I saw and the way she dose hair. I am very happy with the way she dose my hair it feels healthier then it ever has. I have been to her a few times now and don't have any complaints. If you need your hair done I would definitely recommend Nina.

I was extremely pleased...Nina is very informative. I found her online and was skeptical but from first contact she was there for me all the way. She really knows her trade and did an excellent job on my hair. She always responds and answers any questions and addresses any concerns. She gives excellent information that was very helpful to me. I highly recommend her.
