Welcome to Brackendale
We are an independent, family-owned Nursery, not far from Verwood, Ferndown and Wimborne, and only a short drive from Bournemouth and Poole in Dorset. We have been growing for over 50 years and supply many different types of plants including shrubs, perennials, climbers, rhododendrons and azaleas, fruit and ornamental trees, conifers and a wide range of evergreen hedging plants.
We are very much a plant centre, dedicated to growing, sourcing and supplying top quality plants for gardens throughout our local area. We continue to propagate and grow plants within the Nursery to ensure we can offer a great range of well known and new varieties throughout the year. To support our plants we have a selection of composts, mulches and feeds from brands including Melcourt, Sinclair, Rootgrow, Vitax and Strulch.
As a member of the Horticultural Trades Association we sell and redeem HTA national garden gift vouchers and cards, and you can find the plants we grow listed in the RHS plant finder.
Garden design and delivery
If you don't have the confidence or knowledge to tackle a planting project or make the changes that you want in your garden, our team can discuss a plan you may have and offer any advice needed, including: suggesting plants for specific locations or soils; calculating quantities of plants required for borders or hedges; and advising on planting schemes for new borders.
We grow a large proportion of the plants we sell, here in the nursery ourselves, and that experience together with a good appreciation of our local area and soil conditions, gives us a wealth of plant knowledge that we are always happy to share.
We deliver throughout our local area, so if there's a larger quantity of plants that you need or a taller tree that you are unable to transport, we can deliver these for you.

You'll find us on the Dorset-Hampshire border, in Three Legged Cross on the road between Ashley Heath and Horton. We're close to Verwood and Ferndown and Wimborne, can be easily reached from the A31 and we are a 20 minute drive from Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. Good road links from Blandford, Shaftesbury and surrounding villages, make us a popular choice for visitors travelling from the north and west of the county.
