I help women and young adults looking to improve their relationship with themselves and/or repair and restore their relationship with their partner, child, or family member.

Twenty years ago, my first patient was marginalized for being homeless. Ironically she shared a common vulnerability and fear of being left alone in the world. As a therapist, I have come to understand this at the core of human struggle, but as a new therapist all those years ago, lonliness and disconnection felt overwhelming to so many of us living in New York City. We realized that “belonging” is at the heart of human experience. There has been a growing need for connection, and the mind-body component has been the missing piece to traditional psychotherapy. Since this time, that awareness translated into learning from visionary teachers including Deepak Chopra who further fleshed out for me the nature of human expereince and new mindfulness practices to create strong relationship with oneself and with others. My hope is through our sessions, you will have a clearer picture of who you are, and what you want from life.

My Approach

What to expect in therapy.

Judgmental self-talk, people-pleasing, unresolved emotions, and family estrangement or rupture are often themes in therapy.

While there are many approaches to resolve these themes, I take a holistic approach. Our work helps you get to the core of the issue in your relationship with your partner, child, family member, or yourself, and also gives you the tools to finally get unstuck so you no longer feel like “something is wrong.”

Although a central part of my work is to hone into your expereinces, it is also to help you articulate your needs when they arise. I believe that collaboration can actively engage your self-acceptance, curiosity, self-connection, self-confidence, and playfulness about what it means to have this experience of being you.

Blending both western psychological intervention with eastern mindfulness tools, I belive there are three key pillars within the therapy process: to create awareness, get unstuck, and develop new skills. Each pillar not only represents your cycle of personal growth, it also represents your cycle of evolution.

AWARENESS

You’ll start to create change from the inside out. A big part of our work will be to become more aware of your thoughts, feelings, and actions.

GETTING UNSTUCK

Moving through unhealthy patterns,
self-sabotage, and unresolved emotions helps you think differently about an old relationship or even about yourself.

DEVELOPING NEW SKILLS

Holistic tools give you the confidence to handle difficult relationships and intense emotions more easily. You’ll begin to slow down, consider options, and respond from a place of authenticity.
